DIGITAL SELF

AMong the filipino  youth, the use of digital technology has now become part of our daily life.- the digital self. the aspect of digital self is expressed or shared with others through online interaction on the internet, especially in social networking sites.Some users provide  very personal information about themselves for them to get scammed. they let other know what are their personal information so scammers are taking advantage of that. Nevertheless, the desire to create positive impression and to be liked by others may lead to consquence that can be risky to one’s security and mental health. For me, Social media has give  us a chance and  opportunity to build a very visible, permanent record of ourselves, through a digital medium. In that way, we inventing useful identity.That we will be forgotten by others and that our own memories will begin to fade, changing the person that we are. just because of digital. Many people try to create a new self through social media. With apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram people try to create a fake accounts of themselves. They do things they wouldn’t do in the real world, a new personality is formed to look like someone different. You then lose your trust of people on the internet. but for a person who’s lost, social media can be an escape to let everything go unidentified. This is both a plus side and a downside to build up of social media. There are people who are able to say whatever they want to the world without feeling too criticized. Some people use this fake accounts power to attack other people. For the people who use it as a form of expression, it allows them to have the security of showing their interests without the feeling that they will be persecuted.
